Ecological Feminism In Indigenous Narratives: A Study of Female Power and Spirituality in Easterine Kire’s Son of the Thundercloud

Abstract: Easterine Kire, a renowned Naga female author, has emerged prominent in the realm of Naga women’s empowerment through her literary contributions. This study critically analyses Kire’s Son of the Thundercloud, from the lens of women as the central figures as a life-givers and spiritual guides within the context of indigenous Naga culture. Kire empowers women through her resilient female characters in the novel drawing on folklore, mythology and contemporary challenges faced by women. This study will also look at the connection between the exploitation of women and nature under patriarchal systems.
