Abstract:
We have used a pH metric titration technique in a 20% (v/v) ethanol-water mixture at three different temperatures at an ionic strength of 0.1M NaClO4 to measure the proton-ligand and metal-ligand stability constants of medicinal drugs containing Gadolinium metal ion (Gd3+). The logK values of the metal-ligand stability constant have been determined using the modified Irving-Rossotti and Calvin-Bjerrum method. The thermodynamic parameters Gibb's free energy change, entropy change and enthalpy change related to the complexation reactions were quantitatively determined.
