Abstract: Curcumin, ((1E,6E)-1,7-diphenylhepta-1,6-diene-3,5-dione) analogues were prepared and tested against some bacterial and Fungal strain. Derivatisation were done with the phenolic sub units of Curcumin while maintaining 7-spacer linkage 1,3-dicarbony unit unchanged. Detail study and comparison of various substituents on phenolic sub units seriously affect the biological activity of parent molecule. Phenolic –OH was shown significant role over methoxy in Curcumin as anti-microbial agent.
