Quantum Resistant Cybersecurity for Pilgrim Digital Identities

Abstract:
The initial surge in pilgrim amenity computerization and especially on account of mass religious occasions like Hajj and Umrah have given rise to huge digital identity systems that contain sensitive (personal, biometric and travelling) details. Although these systems improve efficiency and accessibility, they are becoming susceptible to the threats that are emerging due to quantum computing in terms of cybersecurity. Long established cryptographic message algorithms to ensure the safety of digital identities may be exposed to obsolescence by quantum-capable attacks, and millions of records of pilgrims might be violated. This essay examines how quantum resistant cybersecurity can be developed to support pilgrim setting Digital identities, using post quantum cryptography, threat detection aided by AI, and distributed identity management using blockchain. The research summarizes the known literature sources with regards to quantum resistant algorithms, assesses AI-assisted adaptive defense levels, and analyzes the role of blockchain in protecting identity information against quantum-resistant attacks. As well, the paper identifies regulatory and ethical issues applicable to secure identity management. Results show that multi-layered quantum-resilient solution can be highly effective in reducing risks, as well as, maintaining privacy, compliance and business efficiency. This study presents a roadmap on how governments, pilgrimage management authorities, and cybersecurity practitioners can use the post-quantum era to proactively protect the digital identities of their users.
