A History of the Mathematics during the Scientific Revolution

Abstract:
The development of analytic geometry by Descartes, the invention of calculus by Newton and Leibniz, and the introduction of logarithms by Napier during the Scientific Revolution (roughly the 17th century) revolutionized mathematics, simplifying computations and laying the groundwork for contemporary science and engineering. From this basis, modern mathematics has developed into several specialized subjects, such as mathematical logic [5] and combinatorics. A major conceptual change with a greater emphasis on rigour and the axiomatic approach took place in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
