Abstract:
The rapid digital transformation of corporate learning has created growing demand for integrated, cloud-based training management systems. Existing enterprise platforms such as Cornerstone OnDemand and SAP SuccessFactors are expensive, complex to deploy, and inaccessible to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in India. This paper presents TrainPro — a multi-tenant SaaS training and HR management platform built using React.js, Node.js/Express.js, and PostgreSQL — that enables organisations to onboard employees, manage structured training programmes, conduct online assessments, issue digital certificates, track attendance, process payroll, and monitor performance from a single dashboard. The platform implements a three-tier role hierarchy — Super Admin, Organisation Admin, and Employee — with JWT-based authentication, bcrypt password hashing, and organisation-level data isolation through tenant middleware. Key modules include training management with video uploads (Multer), examination and auto-grading, certificate template management with auto-issuance, attendance with auto punch-out scheduling, leave management, payroll and benefits computation, goal tracking, and a configurable public-facing landing page builder for each organisation. Evaluation results demonstrate a REST API average response time of 142 ms, 100% endpoint test coverage across 63 API routes, and successful concurrent session handling across multiple organisations. A usability survey of 30 testers confirmed a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 79.6/100.
