Abstract:
This review presents a comprehensive overview of Fe-doped molybdenum hydroxide nanostructures synthesized via the Successive Ionic Layer Adsorption and Reaction (SILAR) with particular focus on their structural features and photocatalytic performance. Molybdenum-based nanomaterials have more important due to their remarkable catalytic efficiency, chemical robustness, and electronic properties. The SILAR method is a simple, cheaper, and controllable approach for produce nanostructured thin films with enhanced surface characteristics. Incorporation of Fe as a dopant significantly improves charge carrier separation and suppresses recombination losses, hence for enhancing photocatalytic activity. This review critically discusses synthesis strategies, key characterization techniques, and recent advancements in photocatalytic and electrochemical applications. Additionally, current challenges and future research directions are highlighted to support further development in this field.
