Synthesis, Characterization, And Dye Degradation Study of Pectin/Al-Doped TiO2 Nanoparticles-Based Bionanocomposites

Abstract:
Pectin/Al-doped TiO2 NPs composites have been developed in this work as a bio-nanocomposite for the treatment of wastewater contaminated with dyes. Several techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), were used to evaluate this bio-nanocomposite. Methyl orange dye photoinduced degradation was investigated with Pectin/TiO2 composite acting as a photocatalyst. The highest photodegradation efficiency under optimal conditions was 86%.
