Neoliberalismo e individualismo

Abstract:
This paper aims to show that a precise definition of the term ?neo-liberalism? needs a correct understanding about the kind of individualism that works as its methodological basis. Beginning with a brief recuperation of the liberal doctrine, particularly of its consequences for the economic level, the paper shows, using Anderson (1995), the origins of neo-liberalism, its relationship with the prevailing ideas in the post-war period and its link with a specific kind of individualism. Finally it shows that, without this correct comprehension, one could made mistakes as it occurs with Peters (1998), who asserts that the economic policies usually associated to neo-liberalism are not neo-liberal policies but only ?liberalization strategies?.
