A economia de fundos próprios: um novo regime de acumulação financeira

Abstract:
From 1980 on, French firms ? as well as firms in most European countries ? migrate from the ?overdraft economy? to the ?autoeconomy?. The adoption of the Anglo-Saxon model determines microeconomic changes ? such as the increased power of investors, the falling share of wages in value added, and slack investment rates in spite of mounting profits ? with important macroeconomic consequences (more financial instability and a worsening in wealth and income distribution). Some policies are recommended to revert the perverse logic of the autoeconomy and to reequilibrate the relative forces of labour and capital.
