Minería, Estado y gran capital en México

Raúl Delgado Wise and Rubén Del Pozo Mendoza

Revista Economia e Sociedade, 2001, vol. 16, 23

Abstract: Departing from the fact that the mining groups stand among the most successful and more internationally-oriented components of monopoly capital in Mexico, we analyze its process of formation and consolidation in an attempt to advance some elements regarding its conceptual characterization. Two issues are crucial in this perspective: the expedition of the so called Mexicanization Law of mining production in 1961, and the rentier-progressive nature of monopoly capital in the sector.
