Dinâmica dos ataques especulativos e regime cambial

Maryse Farhi

Revista Economia e Sociedade, 2001, vol. 17, 25

Abstract: Exchange rate policies shapes differences in the dynamic of speculative attacks, currency crisis and their micro and macroeconomic repercussions. The study of the speculative attacks against the value of the Brazilian currency, both under the system of adjustable exchange rate bands and the floating currency, shows clear evidences of such differences, particularly the distinct role played by the financial derivatives markets during the periods of sharp financial volatility.
