Abstract: The impact of criminality on the properties rental value: the Curitiba case This article aims at estimating the costs of criminality in Curitiba through hedonic prices. In this regard, were developed four models in order to capture individual?s willingness to pay for living in a more secure regions. This article concludes that there is a strong relationship between decrease in criminality rates and the valuation of flats and houses in some regions of Curitiba.
