Globalizzazione e regionalizzazione

Ilario Favaretto

ARGOMENTI, 2002, vol. 2002/4, issue 4

Abstract: Globalizzazione e regionalizzazione (di Ilario Favaretto) - ABSTRACT: The development of regional agreements reflects the growing importance of local realities towards the globalisation process. This leads to the research and valorisation of endogenous qualities that each region owns: the main idea is that the elements which guarantee the success of a region at a local level are not substantially different from those necessary to get international success. The creation of an appropriate human capital and the efficient use of technology are extremely important elements also for the success of regions. Nowadays, the competition either between companies or areas is mainly based on innovative capabilities and innovation can?t be considered outside the territory: it is in fact influenced both by strategies carried out by the regions to allow and spread technological evolution, and by companies operating there. An important element for the birth and the installation of new companies lies on the presence of technical schools and universities which support the growth of a human capital that is vital for the regional development.
