Abstract: Lo sviluppo delle reti a banda larga: prime valutazioni (di Giorgio Prodi) - ABSTRACT:In this essay we analyse the development of broadband networks and services in Italy. We investigate if the current status of technologies, firms, market structures, and regulation guarantee an efficient environment for the growth of the Italian industrial system. We emphasize the presence of monopoly and competition elements. Regulation and positive industrial policies are essential for the development of broadband networks and services.
