Abstract: L'efficienza tecnica nel settore dei servizi idrici (di Marco Percoco) - ABSTRACT: The aim of this paper is to provide an empirical assessment of technical efficiency in the Italian water service industry. After providing a descriptive framework for production technology, financial variables and liberalisation process, technical efficiency by stochastic production frontier is estimated over a sample of 83 municipal firms. A 28% of inefficiency is found and its determinants are shown.
