Abstract: Infrastrutture e sviluppo: alcune riflessioni sulla situazione italiana - Focusing on Italy the paper deals with interactions between infrastructures, development and competitiveness. The study investigates the normative, financial and political determinants of Italian infrastructural deficit. The analysis is conducted in the eyes of industrial and political economists. Our findings support the belief that policy makers should give guidance to the sector and the infrastructural policy should shift from a conjunctural and short-term approach to a structural and long-term strategy.
