Abstract:
Italy has one of the latest places in Europe for women presence in different political and institutional organisations. Recent researches demonstrate that this short presence is consequence of the fact that men occupy every places and they are not willing to give up some of them to women; secondly it is strong the stereotype that to conciliate maternal role with political activity is very difficult, if not undesirable; at last, there is a serious problem connected to the necessary economic resources to start and hold a political career, that is much more heavy for women. We asked the opinion of some experts during a round table organized inside the 5th edition of the Course WOMEN POLITICAL INSTITUTIONS.
