Abstract:
An analysis is offered of territorial and institutional structures, as well as the structure of the sphere of knowledge in patents for inventions in the Far Eastern Federal District in 1998–2009. The main groups of patent holders are distinguished based on economic motivations for their participation in the patent process. Major structural restrictions on developing the institution of patenting of inventions in the region are substantiated
