Abstract:
The article discusses the problems of international cooperation in the Arctic that arose after February 2022. In the conditions of sanctions restrictions, many Arctic countries block cooperation with Russia, which is reflected in the work of international conferences, the implementation of projects launched, the functioning of the Arctic Council. In the scientific and business spheres, two diametrical views are formed regarding the role of Russia in the development of the Arctic in the context of current events. Nevertheless, it is obvious to many that without Russia’s participation it is impossible to implement projects in the field of energy security, climate change, and health preservation. Currently, which coincides with Russia’s chairmanship in the Arctic Council, Russia’s attention is focused on the development of the internal Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, and the planned activities are carried out without the participation of the Western countries
