Abstract: In many water scarce regions, the damage incurred by droughts is inflating irrigation withdrawals and driving agriculture into competition with environmental uses. Crop insurance can take on the role of (unsustainable) water withdrawals to mitigate drought impact. Re3 publishes a video on the role of insurance in drought prone areas.
