Abstract: In order to promote the achievement of sustainable development at the global level, the signatory States of the 2030 Agenda, with Italy among them, starting from 2015, committed to define policies and strategies to guide the coordination and the cooperation of different actors and at different levels, and to encourage the application of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and their targets from the global to the local level. With the elaboration of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development (SNSvS), Italy has played and is still playing a key role in the implementation process of the SDGs: by making use of monitoring, control and evaluation tools, our country is helping in tackling those systemic and enduring obstacles which prevent the realization of an economic growth compatible with both the constraints of the existing physical limits of our planet and with social equity. With the aim of promoting knowledge, awareness and information on the value of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the following Report reveals where Italy stands five years after the 2030 Agenda adoption by providing a quantitative focus on the results achieved at date within the international, national and local panorama.
