Abstract:
This paper examined the impact of automation on the accounting professionals, associated the bureaucratic process within society. lt analyzed possible changes in tasks, job content, and required skills. The study is based on survey data which indica te that bureaucratization has a significant influence upon accounting professions, reducing autonomy. Technology as such does not determine changes in professional tasks, but when connected with bureaucratization may be used as a control tool for accounting professions.
