Abstract: In this paper the authors present a longitudinal study about the use of Decision Support Systems Generators in a Budgeting processo The study comprises: 1. analysis of the userfriendliness concept of a generator; 2. analysis of the development process of DSS using generators; e 3. analysis of the support provided by the DSS to the decision process. Some suggestions for future development of DSS generators are also presented.
