Abstract: This article discusses the potential benefits of using Expert Systems -ES- to help manage Brazilian organizations. It emphasizes the main issues andchallenges of the implementation of ES in the beginning of the next decade. It also stresses the organizational and technological peculiarities of the Brazilian environment.
