O conceito de competitividade da empresa: uma análise crítica
Fábio Luiz Mariotto
RAE - Revista de Administração de Empresas, 1991, vol. 31, issue 2
Abstract:
The term "compeiitiueness", as applied both to nations and firms, became fashionable, because of the changes in the world economic scene. The ideas of heterodox economists, like Schumpeier, help us understand the role of diversification and innovation in the attempt by firms to avoid direct competition. In the theory of business strategy, the role of competition became central with Michael Porter's books. He clearly characterizes the forces of competition and the ways to face them. The applicationof these concepts to the case of microcomputer production in Brazil discloses the little feasibility of this segment of the national information technology industry becoming competitive in the world market.
