Abstract: The issue of this ariide is the immigration of Brazilians to the United States, social phenomenon that is growing a lot, bui has not been studied as deserved. The paper emphasizes the migratory process in the 80's, period in that the migration increases extraordinarily, and tries to compare two different experiences in social and generational ierms, including a case of legal immigration in the beginning of the 60's and a case of ilegal immigration in the middle of the 80's.
