Instrumentos econômicos para gerenciamento ambiental: a cobrança pelo uso da água no estado de São Paulo

Abstract: The paper tries to discuss issues that enhance the limite of the present pricing water services system proposal for the water resource management in the state of São Paulo, verifying the feasibility of the idealized structure. In this sense, firstly the characteristics of a pricing water services system that could be established in the State of São Paulo are presented. Secondly, the text broaches the general characteristics of FEHIDRO - Fundo Estadual de Recursos Hídricos, and then reviews expenditures that have been accomplished for the latest years in the environmental field, making an attempt to illustrate the present challenges.
