Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to build an instrument to assess trainees’ satisfaction with training, based on a previously established theory. The instrument is composed of 78 items and was applied to 1200 trainees with 507 responses (Telebrás employees). A PC analysis showed the presence of six factors, five of them with high internal consistency (alpha equal .80). The factors are the following: usefulness of training for the firm, support versus resistance of the manager to training, quality of training, applicability of training, elements of the training course, and personal versus firm utility of the course. It is recommended that the factor six be better worked out.
