RAE - Revista de Administração de Empresas, 1999, vol. 39, issue 3
Abstract:
This paper approaches the main aspects of the recent development of antitr ust policy in Brazil, where the outstanding aspect is the change in CADE’s action concerning the increasing number of decisions after 1996, as well as the changes in the macroeconomic scene towards stability. From that point on, CADE was able to play its true role, as the competition attorney, made possible by Law #8884 of June 1994. It faces the challenge of working with few human and material resources, caused by the stick actual budget, at the same time that its institutional importance increases.
