RAE - Revista de Administração de Empresas, 2004, vol. 44, issue 1
Abstract:
This article analyses the main concepts, principles and practices of organizational learning as a way of managing managerial competencies based on the individual reality of each organization. It is an exploratory research that is developed, based on case studies in six companies (three Brazilian and three Australian). The results point out the importance of informal practices and the need to establish an articulated strategy, which regard to managerial competencies management. The significant experiences related by the managers interviewed point out organizational practices and practices that have occurred outside of the companies. It also highlights the constructive importance of a social conscience. The main elements of organizational learning that represent a potential contribution for the managerial competencies management refer to the interactive matters between people (reflections that privilege the collective), process vision (continuous development) and the emphasis on the pragmatic matter (practices at work).
