Abstract:
This paper analyze the effects of sector shares of gross value added over the economic growth and spatial income convergence at Mato Grosso from 2001 to 2007. We adapted Barro and Sala-i-Martin β-convergence models with spatial econometric techniques. Spatial autocorrelation tests indicated spatial dependence in the growth rates and sector shares of per capita income in total value added. There were both absolute and conditional income convergences in the municipalities of Mato Grosso. The agricultural sector was primarily responsible for the oscillation of economic status, both for the formation of value added as for income generation.
