Student Veterans in Higher Education: A Transitional Challenge

Abstract:
This article provides a brief historical background of veterans? educational benefits, identifies some of the current challenges facing student veterans in their transition to higher education, and touches upon the cost of educating student veterans and the role of the new G.I. Bill. Additionally, the author discusses potential ways that higher education institutions can help student veterans experience a smooth transition to college and help them attain their educational goals.
