Abstract: Over the past 18 years, the Minneapolis Fed has been privileged to count Thomas J. Sargent among its staff of economic advisers. With six books and nearly 100 articles to his credit, Sargent is well-known and highly regarded by his colleagues in the economics community. He has received many honors for his work including election to both the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Art and Sciences in 1983 at the age of 39.
