Abstract: Anna Schwartz has been an important force in shaping the course of economic research. Her seminal work, A Monetary History of the United States, 1867-1960, co-authored with Milton Friedman, revolutionized the study of money, and her many other books, papers and reviews have also been influential. In this interview she shares her thoughts on money, banking and Trollope.
