Abstract: In this globalised era, time seems to become faster and shorter and space more limited. Academics worldwide, just as other professional categories, have to adapt to these changes by changing their approaches, their work method and their way of interacting. This paper aims at analysing space and time in the Romanian academic world which is also subject to these new dynamics, in a comparative paradigm (as a heritage of the communist era, constantly adapting to today’s realities, on the one hand and as compared to other education systems, on the other hand). The academic spatiotemporal dimension offers academics a myriad of possibilities of moving around within frames of thought, recreating themselves, individually and professionally, evolving on these two axes and creating nets of knowledge.
