Abstract:
This paper aims at achieving a comparative analysis based on the evolution of Romanian Media Sustainability Index (MSI) in the last five years (2012- 2016). The Media Sustainability Index (MSI) is a product of IREX with funding from USAID which annually measures the performance of the media in the European states (Europe and Eurasia) through specific targets and indicators in shaping a successful media system: free speech, professional journalism, plurality of news sources, business management, supporting institutions. The overview of press indicators in Romania provides the interpretation and understanding framework of an important social phenomenon: media sustainability.
