Abstract: This article focuses on how the realm of magic has extended within the internet and on the forms it has taken within the on-line world. After briefly presenting some of the theories of magic along the history, I take a closer look at some of the on-line practices that fit the description of magic, focusing on magic healing and alternative medicine. I use qualitative content analysis in order to analyse an article about how alternative therapy doctors receive their education, in the United States and people’s comments on this article, and this has lead to the finding of the fact that the major characteristics of the magic are preserved in the online media, while some minor aspects have undergone changes or transformations.
