Competition in the Russian Industry in 2003–2009

Abstract:
This paper is a continuation of the research «Competition in the Russian Industry (1995–2002)», exercised and published by Gaidar Institute in 2003. Monitoring, based on the business surveys’ fi ndings enabled to trace the development of competition during the pre crisis period of rapid growth of the Russian economy and to assess effects of exposure to the acute phase of 2008-2009 crisis upon the competitive environment in the Russian industry. New items introduced in the questionnaire in 2003–2010 create preconditions for better understanding of the enhancement of competition.
