Abstract:
This publication discusses the institutional foundations of governing common property. The author reviews various theoretical approaches considering the relationship between private and common property regimes and land use sustainability. The social and environmental outcomes of changing property regimes are illustrated by analyzing the implementation of land reforms in pastoral sector.
