The Impact of State Expenditure on the Quality of General Education in Russia

Alexander Knobel, Ilya Sokolov and Elizaveta Khudko

Research Paper Series, 2011, issue 152P

Abstract: The present study attempted to provide an answer to the question: how well the school system of education is organized in Russia and which forms are critical for changing qualitative characteristics of the system of general education. One of key research findings was the theme that the improvement of the quality of education depends not on increased funding but on the organization and governance of education in school.
