Abstract: Biomass gasification has emerged as a promising method for producing renewable energy, addressing both energy and environmental challenges. This review examines recent research on gasification simulations, covering a range of topics from process modeling to syngas cleanup. Key areas explored include techniques for syngas cleaning, addressing tar formation, and CO 2 capture methods. The aim of this review is to provide an overview of the current state of gasification simulation and identify potential areas for future research and development. This work serves as an invaluable resource for researchers, engineers, and industry professionals involved in biomass gasification modeling. By providing a comprehensive guide to biomass gasification simulation using Aspen Plus software and comparing various modeling approaches, it assists users in selecting the most effective tool for optimizing the design and operation of gasification systems.
