Abstract: In this study, novel methods were used to evaluate the international manufacturing competitiveness of China and the U.S. under the value-added statistical caliber. The results obtain indicated that China’s manufacturing power was greater than that of the United States. However, the Chinese manufacturing index, performance, and international competitiveness were lower than those of the United States. The levels of low technology and medium technology in China were lower than those in the United States, but the level of high technology in China was the same as that in the United States. In addition, the Chinese and the United States three-level indexes were different, which indicated that China and the United States had differences in manufacturing.
