Abstract: The article gives a short overview of the major policy issues in U.S.-China economic relations. It starts with some comments about Hu Jintao’s visit to the U.S. in April 2006 and then looks in more detail at bilateral trade relations. In the third part of the paper the discussion on IPR protection as one of the major conflicting topics in U.S.-China relations is picked up. The last part deals with the future of bilateral economic relations.
