Abstract:
To the relief of Beijing and Washington, Taiwan’s citizens recently voted for an end to the DPP era with its nationalist Taiwanese ambitions and elected Ma Ying-jeou of the KMT as the republic’s new president. Economic revitalization stands at the top of his agenda; however, outside of Taiwan observers are focusing more on the country’s new and rapidly developing dialogue with the Chinese leadership.
