GENERAL ANALYSIS OF DEPOSIT INSURANCE SYSTEM IN TURKEY

Abstract: Banks have a special place in the finance sector, which acts as a bridge that brings investors and investors together. Especially in economic development, the necessity to protect the deposits of banks, which are the fund source of the banks, with the insurance arrangements designed specifically for the savings owners is supported by laws all over the world. When we look back in the banking sector all over the world and in our country, many problems are known. These problems have caused the owners to experience serious problems. Therefore, panic environment will occur if problems occur in the banking sector. The important thing is to get rid of this panic environment with the least damage. In order to eliminate the panic environment, a system should be created to guarantee depositors the guarantee of repayment of their savings as soon as possible. This system is the system of deposit insurance. With the deposit insurance, it will be possible to protect the right of the savings holders within the framework of legal regulations. The stability of the financial system will be ensured with this insurance system. Each country contributes to the stability of the financial sector by implementing a deposit insurance system according to its own economic and legal regulations. In this study, the deposit insurance system in the world and in Turkey were discussed. Recommendations on how the deposit insurance system should be in our country are also included.
