Abstract:
Socio-economic development includes parameters such as demography, technology, health, education, economic development, fiscal capacity, competitive structure and quality of life, and can give information about these parameters and the extent to which social needs are met and to what extent they are met. Socio-economic development may vary across regions within the country. The aim of this study is to answer the question do interregional differences in socioeconomic development level of Turkey reduce? Convergence analysis has been applied for this purpose in Turkey for the period 2003-2011 and socio-economic convergence between the provinces could not be found. This situation indicates the existence of a regional divergence in the level of socio-economic development in Turkey and clippers of interregional socio-economic development disparities do not close.
