A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH ON THE MISSION AND VISION OF TURK PUBLIC BANKS

Abstract:
In today's business world where business conditions and competition vary, the success and sustainability of organizations in their activities depends on the phenomenon of strategic management. The strategic management process consists of many phases, and one of the most important phases is strategic orientation. Mission and vision are at the forefront of the elements that make up the strategic direction. In this study, it is aimed to examine the mission and vision of Turk public banks. For this purpose, content analysis technique was used within the scope of qualitative research method in the study. In this direction, the mission and vision statements of public banks were scanned from the banks' corporate websites, the mission and visions were compared and whether there was a harmony between the mission and vision and their compatibility with the literature were discussed. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the mission and vision of the public banks are partially compatible, the mission and vision statements are partially compatible with the literature, and the distinction between mission and vision is not sufficiently understood from the statements.
