The National Wealth of Denmark 1845-2013 in a European Perspective

Nationaløkonomisk tidsskrift, 2016, vol. 2016, issue 1, 19
Abstract:
This article presents annual estimates on the national wealth of Denmark 1845- 2013 and explores the long-term development of wealth-to-income ratios in two small open Scandinavian economies (Denmark and Sweden) and three large European economies (France, UK and Germany). Denmark seems to have followed the same U-shaped pattern as the larger European economies and had prior to World War I wealth-to-income ratios at the same level as those countries.
