Interest-Rate Development in Denmark 1875-2003 – A Survey

Kim Abildgren

Nationaløkonomisk tidsskrift, 2005, vol. 2005, issue 1, 153-167

Abstract: This article paints a broad picture of the interest-rate development in Denmark since 1875. Three different short-term interest-rate series (the official discount rate, the private banks' average deposit rate, and the market rate of discount/ money market rate) and two different long-term interest-rate series (the government bond yield and the yield on mortgage-credit bonds) are constructed and some »stylised facts« about the development in real interest rates are presented and discussed.
